Luca Brite

Luca Brite is a Panamanian American author with degrees in Biology and Spanish from WWU and an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College. Born and raised in the Panama Canal Zone, her novels and stories are inspired by the jungle, the icy Wisconsin winters, and the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, where she lives today.

Her essays and stories can be found in various anthologies and magazines, as well as the Pages on the Tongue podcast. In 2021, she received an Allegra Johnson Award for an excerpt of her unpublished memoir, The Girl Who Was Swallowed By A Boa.
